PATRAS, GREECE — PRINTING DECKS SINCE 2025

THE STORY BEHIND THE CARDIOLOGIST

I started printing proxies because I got tired of never playing my own decks.

You know the wall. You spend a week building something in Moxfield — a weird, specific Commander list that only really makes sense to you — and then you price it. Four cards cost more than a month of groceries. So the list stays a list. A tab you open, look at, and close again.

That bites harder in Europe than people outside it realise. Singles cost more here, shipping from US sellers takes weeks, and a reserved-list staple isn't a purchase, it's a negotiation with someone. Meanwhile the deck sits there, finished and unplayable.

So I printed one myself. Badly, the first time.

WHY THE FIRST ONES WERE BAD

Thin paper that curled in the sleeve. Colours that went muddy under a game-store light. Edges that told the whole table which cards weren't real from a metre away.

The idea wasn't wrong — the print was. And print I already knew.

Before any of this I worked full time in my family's photo lab, printing photographs and developing film. The shop is still there, still run by my family. Years of pulling prints out of a machine and deciding whether they go to the customer or in the bin teaches you one narrow, useful skill: spotting what's wrong with an image at a glance. A colour cast. A crop that's off. An edge cut half a millimetre crooked.

That's the eye I bring to cards. It's not a romantic story — it's just the reason I was never going to accept a card that looked nearly right.

ORDERING, AND WHY THE SITE WORKS THIS WAY

I built the ordering system on this site myself.

Paste a Moxfield or Archidekt link and it pulls the full list through Scryfall, prices it card by card, and shows you exactly what you're getting before you commit. No email chains, no spreadsheets, no guessing at the total.

I built it that way because everything else I'd tried made me do the boring part. If you've already spent three hours on a deck list, handing it over should take thirty seconds.

QUESTIONS

Who is behind The CARDiologist?

A one-person workshop in Patras, Greece, running since 2025. Every order is printed, cut, checked and packed by the same person — no warehouse, no middleman, no drop-shipping. Questions go straight to me at thecardiologistmtg@gmail.com.

Where do you ship from, and how long does it take?

Everything ships from Patras. Inside Greece, orders go out via BoxNow lockers in about 2 days for a flat €2. Inside the EU, delivery is typically under two weeks with no customs charges or import VAT. Orders are dispatched 1–2 working days after payment.

Do you ship outside the EU?

Yes. Shipping cost outside the EU depends on destination, so we work that out together after you order — mention it in your notes or email me directly.

Are these tournament legal?

No. Proxies are for casual play, playtesting and personal collections. Most Commander playgroups are fine with them, but check with your table or local store first — that call belongs to the people you're playing with.

What are the cards printed on?

Card stock specs are being finalized, so I'd rather not quote numbers I can't back yet. What doesn't change: every card in every order is checked against your list before it's packed. This page gets updated the moment the new stock is locked in.

Can I send my own deck list?

Yes. Paste a Moxfield or Archidekt link on the order page and the whole list imports automatically, priced card by card, so you see the total before you order.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU ORDER?

Email me and I'll get back to you.
